About Us

Tianjin Seed Kindergarten is affiliated with Tianjin International School. Tianjin International School is the 2nd oldest international school in China and the oldest in Tianjin. Tianjin International School is a well-established school of excellence that has served the expat community in Tianjin for over 30 years. Tianjin Seed Kindergarten brings the same educational excellence to our unique bilingual, bicultural curriculum as we develop globally minded individuals who learn, love, and lead.

SEED Kindergarten has Chinese and foreign teachers with many years of teaching experience who care for children with all their hearts and have passion for education. Our teachers provide a comprehensive education based on the child's developmental needs and individual interests.

Our Curriculum

At SEED, we combine research-based international teaching practices with child-centered play-based learning. Guided by monthly thematic units, the children seek to answer essential questions about the world around them. They learn to ask questions and pursue answers through hands-on experimentation with real materials. Each theme combines music, art, movement, dramatic play, and literature into the lessons. Class time is filled with language-rich learning in both Chinese and English. Children learn to express their ideas naturally in both languages, as they move from one center to the next. SEED Kindergarten's curriculum combines the best of both worlds, preparing students to be successful, curious learners in two languages and cultures, while meeting all the national Chinese Kindergarten standards. SEED Kindergarten maintains regular communication with the local elementary schools and families, helping children to be fully prepared for transition to first grade both academically, physically, and emotionally.

Academic

FOUNDATIONS CLASS

Foundations Class is for children that are 3 years old. In Foundations, we focus on language development and create an immersive, bilingual teaching environment. This allows children to learn English and Chinese in a fun and natural way with a good understanding about multiple cultures. Our teachers understand that, for many students, this is their first school experience, so we intentionally use developmentally appropriate play to promote children’s motor, social-emotional, cognitive, language, and independent self-care skills.

Junior Class

In Junior Kindergarten, our teachers use thematic and inquiry-based teaching methods to develop children's bilingual comprehensive learning in creative and critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. Our integrated Chinese and English curriculum promotes holistic teaching approaches aimed at developing children’s autonomy and responsibility, willingness to serve, and the ability to appreciate different cultures.

Kindergarten Class

Kindergarten class continues the use of bilingual, thematic learning to expand students' knowledge and holistic development. Through fun themed units, students will learn to approach the world as truth-seekers and problem solvers. Students will learn English phonics and pre-literacy skills, along with other needed abilities to prepare them to successfully transition to primary school.

Bilingual Learning

In our bilingual teaching model, foreign teachers and Chinese teachers integrate English and Chinese instruction throughout the day to promote the children's expression and development in both languages. In every thematic unit, students will explore concepts, ask questions, and share learning in both languages, helping them develop academic vocabulary and communication skills across languages.

Learning Spaces

Our campus provides special spaces for learning through play. Open classrooms allow for flexible spaces to accommodate small and large group activities. Outdoor and indoor playgrounds are designed to meet the needs for healthy growth and development of children. Our fine arts classroom, library, and garden provide a comfortable, safe learning environment for your children, which is both colorful and beautiful.

Exploratory Classes

Each week, students will participate in fine arts, culture, nature, physical education, and library activities that will enhance their development beyond the classroom. These "specials" allows them to explore personal interests and create a deep appreciation for personal expression and aesthetic beauty.
